Buhl Park Pickleball Ladder League

Location: Pickleball courts are located behind the Golf Shop

Price: $40 per person

League Info:

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the Start time (6 PM).

1) Each ladder will run for 6 consecutive weeks starting on May 14 and July 9 and ending on June 18 and August 13.

2) If you need to report off for a night, you will need to send a text message to the league administrator no later than 4:00 PM on the day of play. Everything is done by hand as there is no magic program to do all the paperwork when someone doesn't show. With that in mind, if you do miss and report off you will only drop one rung in the ladder. Each miss with a report off will drop you one rung each time. If you do not report off, you will drop an entire group. If you miss a second time without a report off, you will drop to the bottom of the entire ladder. Please try to keep all report-offs to a minimum.

3) The courts will be reserved from 5:00 PM on, so you will have plenty of time to warm up. We will start playing at 6:00 PM, so please be on time. Open play is encouraged after the ladder, so stick around and get some extra games in.

4) All groups will be scheduled for 5 players, but if there are report-offs, we will of course have to adjust that. What we try to do is keep the same group, so if a report-off occurs in group 1, we will just keep that at 4 instead of bringing up a player to make a fifth. This works well in keeping the movement of players where they finish and not jumping over some for no reason. All games are round-robin, so you will play with and against each player in your group. In groups of 5, one player will get a bye each round. Groups of 5 will play to 11 win by 2 and groups of 4 will play to 15, win by 2.

5) Your movement within the ladder is first by the number of wins, followed by points scored. If players tie in wins and points scored, the player seeded lowest will be the one to move up as the higher seed was expected to win that match. You will see lots of movement in the first few weeks until things get equaled out. If you win your group, you will move up to the next group and consequently, if you lose your group you will drop to the next group down. Seeding for the groups has been random first by grouping skill levels and then by a blind draw. Unfortunately, there really isn't a good way to do seeding with so many players in the same skill level groups. We try to be as fair as possible.

6) Results will be e-mailed to you the following day and no later than Thursday.

7) In the event of a rainout, the make-up date will be added onto the following Tuesday after the final scheduled week of the league session.

Refund Policy:

-Refunds can be administered, minus a $15 administration fee, up to 7 days before the start of the league session start date registered for.

-No refunds will be given within 7 days of the league session start date registered for.

Media Release: I/We hereby give the Buhl Park and participating agencies permission to use films, videotapes, and photographs of the above mentioned individual or minor for lawful promotional or informational purposes.

Medical Release: In the event that I/we cannot be reached in an emergency, I agree to accept any and all determinations of the need for medical and/or administration of medical attention deemed necessary by the Buhl Park representatives. I hereby give permission to the medical personnel selected by Buhl Park to secure any and all advised hospitalization, medical dental, and/or surgical treatment. In the event that previous treatments are deemed necessary, all costs of such shall be borne by the parent/guardian.

Activity Release: I/We assume all risks of injury whatsoever and agree to hold harmless the Buhl Park from claim(s) of any nature arising from activity, including transpiration, connected with the Buhl Park. This holds harmless agreement includes, but is not limited to, any claim(s) due to injury proximately resulting from the negligence of Buhl Park, its employees, agents, and volunteers.

IF A MINOR: I/We, the parents/legal guardians of the above-named youth, give approval of participation in the Buhl Park-sponsored activities.

Liability Release: I/We, the undersigned parent/guardian and minor applicant, in consideration of being able to participate in the Buhl Park, do herby and for ourselves, our children, and any minors under our guardianship, our heirs, executors, and administrators, agree to release forever discharge and hold harmless The Buhl Park Corporation and Trustees, and all officers, employees, administrators, agents, volunteer staff of Buhl Park, officers, employees, successors, and assigns, from any and all claims, actions, causes of actions, demands, rights, suits and damages, costs, whatsoever, arising out of physical and/or mental personal injuries and property damage which may be sustained by, or caused by, the applicant, including damages inflicted through the negligent acts of the applicant as a direct or indirect result of the applicant's participation in the Buhl Park.

The Buhl Park Corporation has established and implemented precautionary and preventive measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 pursuant to CDC and Pennsylvania Department of Health recommendations; however, The Buhl Park Corporation cannot and does not guarantee that you, your child/children, your household members, or any other person(s), will not become infected with COVID-19.

I am aware of the contagious nature of COVID-19 and have voluntarily chosen to participate in Buhl Park’s Programming. I acknowledge that the circumstances regarding COVID-19 are changing from day to day and much information regarding COVID-19 is still unknown.
